The True Meaning of XMas

Never mind that Jesus was not born in December (probably October) - as long as we remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Never mind that angels don't sing (at least, the Bible doesn't say so) - as long as we remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Never mind that the wise men didn't show up until the baby was a couple of years old - as long as etc.

Never mind that the whole "mother and child" symbology was taken over from paganism to make the pagan "converts" feel wellcome - as long as; well, you get the idea.

Never mind that Christmas was not observed by our Pilgrim/Puritan forbears (in fact, it was illegal) - as long as ..

Never mind that the Christmas Tree was invented by Martin Luther and imported to America by German immigrants  - as long as, blah, blah, blah.

So, what is the True meaning of Christmas?

"Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD.

"But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' sope:

"And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

"For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall.

"And, ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of our feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

"And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse" Malachi, 3:1-3; 4:1-4, 5 & 6.

Merry Christmas
